More about Jack.org: Suicide is the leading health-related cause of death among young people in Canada. 1 in 7 young people in Canada report having suicidal thoughts, which does not account for those who do not report having these thoughts. Every year, 150 000 people will act on these thoughts, and for hundreds, it will be fatal. This needs to change. What is Jack.org? Jack.org is a national organization working to empower young leaders to revolutionize mental health. We aim to identify and dismantle barriers surrounding mental health, such as breaking the stigma. We advocate and educate others in mental health care. We want to provide people with resources and support to help them get the help they need. Our movement is powered by tens of thousands of advocates and allies across every province and territory of Canada. The University of Windsor has our own small Jack.org Chapter whose focus is on promoting mental health care within the campus community. We plan events to help people relieve stress, learn tips and tricks for self-care, access community resources, and overall advocate for mental health.
